I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Public Administration & Sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), the Netherlands.
My main research interests are governing and managing hybridity and hybrid organizations, e.g. autonomized agencies, social enterprises and other forms of social innovation at the interface of state, market and society.
In my work, I try to bridge the divide between theory and practice. Before working at EUR, I was affiliated with the Netherlands School for Public Administration, a think tank and private education institute for high-ranked civil servants, and with two Dutch Universities of Applied Sciences.
I have consulted several Dutch and international government departments and public organizations. I was the Dutch member in the management committee of COST Action Empowering the next generation of social enterprise scholars. Recently I played a role in the European Commission’s Mutual Learning Program, where I provided input on social enterprise in the Netherlands. I also was part of a team led by the OECD, conducting research on how to boost social enterprise and social innovation in the German federal state of Brandenburg.
